Pedal for Pets was founded by Wendy C. Maguire in 2010. With a life long love of animals and a desire to do something to help the suffering of animals both in and outside of shelters and animal control, she decided the best way to help was to start at the grass routes level, unwanted litters and unstoppable multiplication.
Pedal for Pets provides assistance in three ways.
Over 2.5 MILLION dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are euthanized a year for no other reason than they exist. This is how we help:
Pedal for Pets raises money to provide the funding necessary for spay/neuter surgeries and rabies vaccines for pets whose owners cannot afford it. This is provided on a case by case basis and no one is ever turned away.
Pedal for Pets provides Grants for spay/neuter surgeries to be performed for other counties in Georgia as well as works with specific groups by paying for the surgeries to make the pets adoptable.
Trap/Neuter/Return or Re-home for feral cats
We have three feeding stations in Senoia and Peachtree City where we feed the feral cats and then trap them, fix them and release them back to their environment. They are healthier and are no longer able to add to the feral cat population. This is a proven environmentally and economically friendly way to deal with these cats. Trapping and killing in shelters is not only horrific but, costs considerably more.
